Caregiver alert opt-in workflow.

This public page documents the exact point where a caregiver chooses whether to receive Baby Brief RCS or SMS handoff alerts. The example below is non-interactive and does not collect a phone number or consent.

How consent is collected

1. A parent creates and shares a private care handoff with a selected caregiver.
2. The caregiver opens the secure, token-protected handoff link.
3. The caregiver enters or confirms their own U.S. mobile number.
4. The caregiver affirmatively checks an unchecked consent box and selects “Turn on alerts.”
5. Baby Brief records the phone number, consent time, source, copy version, and handoff before sending an opt-in confirmation.

Sharing a handoff does not enroll the caregiver. The checkbox is unchecked by default, and alerts remain off unless the caregiver completes these steps.

Program details

Alerts are transactional account notifications about saved handoff changes and new parent messages. They contain only a general update type and a secure link; they do not include care-card details, schedule values, handoff-note contents, or chat text. Message frequency varies.
